Thanks for the question! Based on the Taproot deployment, I would assume adopting this type of protocol (if possible) would be something that be more an issue of consensus once there was a viable means of shifting the protocol. As far as I know, the Snow protocols were being tested in a virtual machine environment for the sake of showing throughput. Although the timing of the original post was during the testing phases, the Snow protocols have been deployed on Avalanche’s main net.
